A Royal London Wedding
The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London, England and a green and pleasant corner of our Great urban metropolis. Zi and Chengze are a super talented couple originally from Beijing but now living and working in London.
I felt incredibly honoured when asked to video their wedding and only slightly daunted, knowing Zi is very successful creative, working in design. I asked them what they wanted from a wedding film “a memory, a piece of visual art”.
Kew Gardens wow! Such a spectacular venue and glorious at mid summer just a profusion of scent and colour. I was lucky enough to get access the day before, via the very grand Elizabeth Gate to wander through the gardens, they’re big I was wandering for about 3 hours, lost amongst some of the most beautiful planting schemes and parkland.
The ceremony was in the Nash Conservatory Originally and is described as originally, “designed for Buckingham Palace“ it’s a grade II listed building and was formerly the No.1 plant house. The room is flooded with light and you feel surrounded by the greenery of the garden. After a tour on the Kew explorer the wedding guests retired to The Orangery, originally designed for growing citrus fruit and by night the venue for the wedding breakfast.
After speeches the couple got down to some serious dancing busting classic moves straight out of Pulp Fiction to Chuck Berry’s, c'est la vie and excellent first dance song! Please check out the Highlight video.
